Nitrogen oxide emissions reduction is "under stress" , billions of denitration market released
On February 11th, Vice Minister of Ministry of Environmental Protection Wei Qing said on Tuesday that nitrogen oxides will be under more pressure in the next two years. In 2014, it will need to reduce more than 5%. The industry pointed out that the denitrification market with a scale of 100 billion yuan has entered a period of concentrated release.
On February 11th, Vice Minister of Ministry of Environmental Protection Wei Qing pointed out at the press conference held by the National Office for Newcomers that it is expected that all pollutant discharge reduction tasks in 2013 can be fully completed. In particular, nitrogen oxides are expected to decline by more than 4%.
According to the “12th Five-Year Plan” of the “Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction” program, by 2015, the total amount of nitrogen oxide emissions in the country needs to be controlled at 20.462 million tons, which is 10% lower than that in 2010.
Yan Qing introduced that sulfur dioxide, chemical oxygen demand, and ammonia nitrogen have all been reduced by more than 7% in the past three years. The completion of these three indicators and the time schedule are basically matched. However, the progress of nitrogen oxide emission reduction targets is relatively slow, and the emission reduction pressures in 2014 and 2015 are relatively large.
Zhou Shengxian, Minister of Environmental Protection, clearly pointed out at the National Environmental Protection Working Conference in 2014 that nitrogen oxides are the “most important task” of the emission reduction tasks in the next two years, with an average annual reduction of about 4.8%.
The policy drives the denitrification market into a growth-out phase. According to Yan Qing, 2013 thermal power plant denitrification increased 205 million kilowatts. The Ministry of Environmental Protection also requested that the amount of nitrogen oxide emissions in 2014 be reduced by more than 5%, and that it should strive to achieve a total installed capacity of 130 million kilowatts of coal-fired units.
According to the calculation of the denitrification per watt of coal-fired units of approximately 270 yuan, this annual task will only bring about a market size of approximately 35.1 billion yuan in the field of thermal power and denitrification.
An analyst at Huachuang Securities pointed out that it is expected that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, denitrification construction and catalyst market demand will be over 70 billion yuan, plus reducing agent (urea, ammonia), and the market space will be over 100 billion yuan.
